Population Served: People over the age of 62 and those that meet agency guidelines.
Services: A homemaker service that serves the elderly in their homes. They run errands, cook meals, clean, do laundry, and take clients to doctors’ appointments. No medical treatment is given.
Payment: Private pay, some seniors get help through senior services based on their income.

Services: Education service, advocates for resolving debt issues, help resolve financial concerns, credit counseling, credit score solutions, credit report solutions, credit counseling, debt management, and reduction of interest rates.
Payment: Fee is generally $35 to get started and is blended into clients’ low monthly payment.

Contact Person: Depending on legal assistance needed, you will be directed to the right person. Call Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Population Served: Senior citizens and low income persons.
Services: Free civil legal services for low income persons and senior citizens. They provide legal representation and education about the legal system. Lawyers may help with the following issues: housing, family, consumer, public benefits and health, services for senior citizens and disabled persons, and education.

Services: A transitional shelter for men and women; counseling with a pastor; Sunday church services; clothing resources on Friday afternoons; food on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; food referrals on Tuesdays; and job placements.

Senior Services of Central Illinois

Population Served: Seniors ages 60 and older based on income. 
Services: Information and assistance that helps seniors utilize community resources to continue to be independent and not resort to a nursing home facility. Also, there is Senior Healthcare Assistance Program, Senior Pharmaceutical Assistance Program, case management, a homemaker and adult daycare service, a money management program, elder abuse and neglect program, and the crime victim/witness protection program. Daily Bread, Elder Assistance Services, RSVP (The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), and Senior Transport are other outside services that can be arranged through Senior Services.

Springfield Urban League

Population Served: African-Americans
Services: Education, a head start program, weekly home visits for children from birth to three years, pre-school. Springfield Urban League’s efforts focus on economic empowerment, health and quality of life, civic engagement, and civic rights. Serve those who have been affected by racial injustice. Assist in employment, housing, education, and social welfare.
Payment: Free, if enrolling a child in school may have sliding scale.
