S.O.S. - Springfield Overflow Shelter The mission of S.O.S. is to work together to provide a safe shelter, a warm meal and caring human contact for people who are homeless. Who: Anyone needing a warm place to stay for the night. What: An overflow shelter during the winter months. When: Nov. 1, 2006 – March 31, 2007 Intake begins at 6 p.m. each night. Why: To provide shelter after the other local shelters are full. Where: The S.O.S. shelter will be in the basement of Contact Ministries. All guests should enter through Helping Hands at 200 South 11th Street, Springfield for intake.
